Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who got a clean chit in last year's drugs-on-cruise case, will be getting his passport back. On Wednesday, a special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) in Mumbai directed the court registry to return Aryan's passport and also cancel his bail bond. He had submitted passport in court as per bail conditions.
Aryan was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3 last year. He spent 20 days in jail before he was granted bail by court. In a chargesheet filed in May, Aryan was not named as an accused by the anti-drug agency. A statement from NCB said that all accused  persons were found in possession of drugs except Aryan and Mohak Jaswal. Aryan along with 5 others was let off due to 'lack of sufficient evidence.'
Recently, NCB deputy director Sanjay Singh, who headed the Special Investigations Team (SIT) in the case, disclosed what Aryan said during the investigation. He told India Today that Aryan said he has been painted as an 'international drug trafficker' and the financer of drug trafficking and those charges are absurd. He stated that NCB arrested him without any evidence and have done ruined his reputation.

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha has voiced his support for Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan after he was given a clean chit by the Narcotics Control Bureau in the drugs-on-cruise case.
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Shatrugan Sinha reacted to the news and said that he now feels 'vindicated.' He further added that Aryan was 'paying the price' for being superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son and it was 'not acceptable.'
'My stand seems to have vindicated now. I did support not only Aryan but also Shah Rukh Khan. He was paying a price for being ― Shah Rukh Khan. This action or reaction of the government is certainly highly appreciated,' the actor told Bombay Times.
'This seems to be politics of vendetta. This is not acceptable, especially by a high profile institution like NCB. I can understand the pain, anguish and helplessness that Shah Rukh Khan must have gone through,' said the actor,' he further added.
Shatrughan Sinha stressed that a 'deterrent punishment' should be given to those who framed the innocent without a proper investigation or any proof. 
'All the people involved in framing an innocent boy and sending him behind the bars for no rhyme or reason, without any evidence and without any proper investigation must be taken to task with deterrent punishment. So that in future they might have to think one thousand times before taking such a step,' he told Bombay Times.
Aryan Khan, who was arrested in the drug case in October 2021, was given a clean chit by the NCB on May 27. NCB Deputy Director-General Sanjay Singh said there was an error in the initial probe led by former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede.
