Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Nov 13 had announced that schools & colleges would remain closed due to the poor air quality, and will now reopen from November 29 onwards, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on wednesday.
Gopal Rai said, private CNG buses that have been hired to augment public transport will be deployed in areas where Delhi government employees live, like Timarpur and Gulabi Bagh, and shuttle buses will be deployed from metro stations close to the Delhi Secretariat to facilitate the transport to employees.
Only CNG and electric trucks carrying non-essential services will be allowed entry into Delhi from Nov 27 to Dec 3 and entry of trucks, apart from those carrying essentials, has been banned.
The air pollution level, which had worsened after Diwali, has improved and reached the pre-Diwali situation, Rai said.

The Haryana government has also imposed a ban on the sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in 14 of its districts in the National Capital Region, while curbs were put in other parts.
Experts said the air quality turned severe owing to unfavourable meteorological conditions -- calm winds, low temperature and low mixing height -- and a poisonous cocktail of emissions from firecrackers, stubble burning and local sources.
The city reported its first episode of fog on Thursday.&nbsp;
The capital's 24-hour average air quality index stood at 382 on Thursday, up from 314 on Wednesday. It was 303 on Tuesday and 281 on Monday.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
According to SAFAR model forecasts, stubble burning share may increase to 35 per cent on Friday and 40 per cent on Saturday with the wind direction changing to northwesterly.
Relief is expected only from the evening of November 7 but AQI will fluctuate within the 'very poor' range.

People from several parts of the city and its suburbs complained of itchy throat and watery eyes, as a layer of smog, the first episode this season, lingered over the region.
Residents of Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi, Burari in North Delhi, Paschim Vihar in West Delhi and Shahdara in East Delhi reported incidents of firecracker bursting as early as 7 pm, despite the blanket ban in the national capital till January 1, 2022.
A substantial dip in cracker bursting in the evening seemed a break from tradition. But it did not take long for the sound of explosions to pierce the silence, a resident of Kailash Hills said.
Several incidents of high-intensity cracker bursting were reported from Gurgaon and Faridabad.

Gufran Beig, the founder-project director of SAFAR, said the PM2.5 pollution will shoot up rapidly by Friday early morning with the AQI even crossing the 500 mark.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the 24-hour average PM2.5 concentration in Delhi-NCR rose from 243 micrograms per cubic meter at 6 pm to 263 micrograms per cubic meter at 9 pm, more than four times the safe limit of 60 micrograms per cubic meter.

On October 27, the Delhi government had launched the 'Patakhe Nahi Diye Jalao' campaign to create awareness against the bursting of crackers. Under the campaign, action can be taken under relevant IPC provisions and the Explosives Act against anyone found burning crackers.
According to the government, more than 13,000 kg of illegal firecrackers have been seized and 33 people arrested so far under the anti-cracker campaign.

A senior scientist at IMD said the dip in pollution levels was likely because of an improvement in the wind speed (up to 10 kilometres per hour).

Pollution levels soared in some areas of Mumbai, giving rise to hazy conditions for the second day in a row on Sunday, the Hindustan Times reported.
The skyline was engulfed by a layer of smog as the Air Quality index for PM2.5 was recorded at 100 or satisfactory.
The System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research(SAFAR) said this was the worst air quality recorded since March, stating that moisture in the air has increased its capacity of carrying pollutants
The condition at Bandra Kurla Complex was the worst, with an AQI of 304 on Sunday, followed by Navi Mumbai which had a moderate AQI&nbsp;at 156.&nbsp;
