Apple's much-anticipated AR headset is turning out to be quite a powerhouse.

A new <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2022/6/26/23183777/apple-mixed-reality-headset-m2-chip-rumors-virtual-reality-ar">report</a> claims that the rumoured augmented reality (AR) headset from Apple will have an M2 chip and 16GB of RAM.
These specifications would make it more powerful than Meta&rsquo;s popular Oculus Quest 2.&nbsp;
The very same report also suggests that the device might be capable of delivering both AR and virtual reality (VR) experiences, which means it might be a mixed reality device.
Also worth noting is that the operating system for this headset might be called RealityOS. This name has been found in Apple's code and in a trademark application.

Apple has announced the new Apple M2, which is 5nm chipset with 20 billion transistors, 20% more than M1. The Apple M2 has an 8-core CPU with 18% faster CPU performance than M1, and a 10-core GPU which is up to 35% faster than M1. The Apple M2 gets support for a 100Gbps memory bandwidth, and up to 24GB RAM.
The new media engine on the Apple M2 can natively decode 8K H.264, HEVC, and ProRes video.

A new, redesigned MacBook Air debuted at WWDC 2022, finally losing the iconic wedge shape in favour of an 11.3mm thin chassis. It&rsquo;s powered by the new Apple M2 chip, and available in four colours, with &lsquo;starlight&rsquo; and &lsquo;midnight&rsquo; joining the old staples of silver and space grey. It will also be available with up to 2TB storage and up to 24GB RAM.
The new MacBook Air gets a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display that gets up to 500 nits of brightness, and support for 1 billion colours. The display has been expanded to the corners, as in the new MacBook Pro models, but does feature a notch.
MagSafe is back on the MacBook Air, as the new M2-powered model gets a dedicated charging port along with 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a high impedance 3.5mm headphone jack.
The new MacBook Air also gets a new 1080p webcam with low-light performance 2x better than the outgoing model. There&rsquo;s also a new 4 speaker sound system, completely integrated into the keyboard, with no speaker grille. It also has support for Dolby Atmos.
The new MacBook Air will keep the long battery life, with Apple promising up to 18 hours of video playback time on a single charge.
The new MacBook Air starts at ₹1,19,900 in India, and will be available from July, 2022.

According to report from Mark Gurman in Bloomberg, Apple is all set to unveil new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini models at their rumoured March 8 spring launch event. The new Mac models would all be powered by the upcoming Apple M2 chip, the successor to the Apple M1.
The same event is likely to see the launch of the 2022 iPhone SE with 5G support, and a new iPad Air.
Gurman says that Apple is now entering the third phase of its transition from Intel&rsquo;s x86-based processors to ARM-based Apple Silicon chipsets. He expects Apple to launch new Mac models based on the new Apple M2 chip, and a super-powered version of the M1 Max chipset, along with the current M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max offerings.
Apple could also launch a second wave of Mac models around May or June. In total, Gurman expects Apple to launch multiple models of MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac Pro in 2022.

Apple could also launch a new Mac Pro desktop computer, around half the size of the current offering, with a new Apple Silicon chipset inside touted to be as powerful as four M1 Max chips.
The Apple M2 chipset will retain the eight-core architecture of the M1, but will be a bit faster. It will reportedly feature much better graphical processing capabilities, with a 9 or 10 core GPU. The M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets could be launched in 2023, along with a supposed Apple M3 chipset.
