Indian dairy giant Amul will sponsor USA and South Africa during the T20 World Cup in June, the cricket boards of the respective teams announced on Thursday.
The USA will be making their tournament debut as co-hosts of the tournament beginning June 1. Part of the event, including the semifinals and finals, will take place in the Caribbean.
Amul has been named the Lead Arm sponsor of the both USA and South African squad. The World Cup opener will be played between USA and Canada on June 1.
The Indian dairy behemoth with global footprints has sponsored cricket teams in the past as well including the Netherlands, South Africa and Afghanistan. Amul milk is also now being sold in the USA.
USA recently beat Canada 4-0 in a bilateral series.
"The goodness of Amul Milk will empower the USA Cricket team to win hearts and laurels from across the world. We wish our best to the team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024," Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul, said in a statement.
On the association with the Proteas, he added: "Amul has been associated with the South Africa team in the 2019 ODI series and 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. We are proud to further strengthen our association with the South Africa men&rsquo;s cricket team and wish them all the best for the T20 World Cup." South Africa will play their World Cup opener against Sri Lanka on June 3.
"Amul is one of India's most iconic and trusted dairy brands and will feature on the leading sleeve of the Proteas World Cup playing kit," said Cricket South Africa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled 5 projects worth Rs 1,200 crore at the Golden Jubilee celebration of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF). GCMMF runs the brand Amul.
The projects include modern cheese plant of Sabar Dairy, a long-life tetra pack milk plant of Amul Dairy at Anand, expansion of its chocolate plant and a 50,000-litre ice cream plant of Sarhad Dairy in Kutch&nbsp;

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while speaking at the event hailed Amul for its contributions to the Indian diary sector.&nbsp;
"After India's independence, several brands came up in the country. Lekin Amul jaisa koi nahi - Amul has become the identity of livestock keepers. Prime Minister Modi while noting that Amul is the 8th largest dairy company in the world, encouraged the firm to reach position 1, assuring full support from the government.&nbsp;
"Amul is the world's 8th largest dairy company, you have to make it world's No 1 dairy company and on this way you will have full support of the government. This is Modi's guarantee," he said
He also praised the contribution of Gujarat and women in India's diary sector which in turn fuelled the country's growth.&nbsp;
"Taking complete advantage of the double-engine government, Gujarat is leading in the cooperative production of milk. In the last 2 decades, the number of milk corporations in the state has doubled from 12 to 23. More than 36 lakh people are connected with the dairy industry, including 11 lakh women. Out of the 16,384 milk houses, 3300 are completely run by women. These women have become financial support for their families," he said

Amul addressed the speculations by releasing an official statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), cautioning the public against misinformation. The statement highlighted that an unauthorized individual had fabricated and disseminated a deceptive message asserting the launch of a new Amul Cheese variant.
In the clarifying message, Amul emphasized, "Issued in public interest by Amul: This is for your kind information that a fake message is being forwarded on WhatsApp and Social Media platforms regarding new type of Amul Cheese. The creator of the post has made the creative and posted this without any authorization from Amul."
Furthermore, the company expressed its concern over the inappropriate use of the Amul brand name in the AI-generated packaging showcased in the misleading post. Amul explicitly confirmed that the depicted packaging did not represent or belong to any Amul Cheese product.

The ruling BJP in the State and the opposition Congress and the JD (S) have been engaged in a war of words in recent days after the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation announced its plans to sell Amul milk and curd in Bengaluru.

Amid a political row over Amul versus Karnataka&rsquo;s Nandini brand, members of a pro-Kannada organisation on Monday staged a demonstration against the Gujarat-based dairy cooperative.
Police detained the members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and took them into preventive custody.
The ruling BJP in the State and the opposition Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) have been engaged in a war of words in recent days after the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation announced its plans to sell Amul milk and curd through quick commerce platforms in Bengaluru.
Leaders of the Congress and JD (S) criticised the move saying it would hurt the interests of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), which owns the Nandini brand.

GCMMF, which sells dairy products under the Amul brand, is expecting 20% growth in its revenue this fiscal to around ₹66,000 cr on rising demand, its MD Jayen Mehta said.
Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) registered a turnover of ₹55,055 cr in 2022-23, up 18.5% from the previous year.
In an interview, the GCMMF MD (in charge) said it had clocked a strong growth in revenue last fiscal, as demand for branded dairy products rose significantly post-COVID.
'We expect the sales momentum to continue across our product portfolio. Demand is shifting from unorganised to organised players,' he said.
Mehta said the federation is also focusing on growing organic food and edible oil businesses, which are currently very small.
Asked about milk prices, Mehta said, 'We have no plans to increase rates as of now'.
He pointed out that input cost has risen by 15% in the last one year, forcing the cooperative to hike retail prices to some extent last year.
GCMMF did not hike prices in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID, he said, adding that rates were raised a few times last year.
GCMMF currently has 98 milk processing plants across the country with an installed capacity of 470 lakh litres per day. It is collecting on an average of 270 lakh litres per day.
The federation will expand capacity by 30-40 lakh litres per day in the next two years, the MD said.
In the last fiscal, GCMMF reported 21% growth in fresh products, which contributes 50% to its turnover and the Ice cream range grew by 41%.
"We have achieved volume sales growth in all product categories. Pouch milk, which is the highest turnover product, has shown volume growth in double digits. Apart from this, our products like butter, ghee, Ice Cream, UHT milk, flavoured milk, paneer, and fresh cream have also shown double-digit growth," Mehta had said recently

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets its dairy products under the brand name 'Amul', on Friday increased the prices of milk by Rs 2 per litre for all markets except Gujarat.
Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of the Anand-headquartered federation, said the hike in milk prices is not applicable to Gujarat.
"We have increased the milk prices by Rs 2 per litre for markets other than Gujarat, such as Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. As of now, there is no increase in milk prices in Gujarat," he told PTI.
The new prices are effective from Friday morning, the GCMMF said in a statement issued by its Mumbai office.
With the increase in prices, one litre pouch of Amul Taaza milk will now cost Rs 54, while one litre of Amul Gold will be sold at Rs 66, the statement said, adding that one litre pouch of cow milk will now cost Rs 56, while Amul A2 buffalo milk pouch will cost Rs 70 from Friday.

Milk price has been hiked by Rs 2/litre by Amul as well as Mother Dairy.&nbsp; With the Rs 2 hike, full cream milk in Ahmedabad, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Mumbai metro markets will cost Rs 62 per litre, while toned milk will be sold at Rs 50 per litre. For Amul Shakti, customers have to pay Rs 56 per litre.&nbsp; This price hike is being done due to an increase in the overall cost of operation and production of milk. The cattle feeding cost alone has increased to approximately 20 per cent compared to last year, Amul said. "Considering the rise in input costs, our member unions have also increased farmers&rsquo; prices in the range of 8-9 per cent over the previous year," Amul said in a statement.

The price of 5 kg cylinder also increased by Rs 27. Now 5 kg cylinder will cost Rs 569 in Delhi.

Taxpayers will be given time to file their TDS for the last quarter of FY20-21. The deadline for this is July 15.
SBI&nbsp;ATM&nbsp;withdrawal charge: Bank to charge Rs 15 plus GST per cash withdrawal for transactions at bank branches, SBI ATMs, or from other banks&rsquo; ATM beyond 4 free cash withdrawals. Cheque books beyond 10 leafs will also be chargeable
