Amroha is all set to witness a electoral showdown as Congress leader Danish Ali is seeking second term.&nbsp;

Amroha, known for its 'dholak' industry and mangoes, is gearing up for a heated electoral showdown in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Situated in the heart of the Rohilkhand region in western Uttar Pradesh, Amroha finds itself at the centre of a three-way contest involving the BJP, INDIA bloc, and the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
The battle for the parliamentary seat sees the incumbent MP and former BSP leader, Danish Ali, who recently switched to the Congress, facing off against the BJP's Kanwar Singh Tanwar and BSP's Mujahid Hussain. Notably, Amroha has seen a rotation of MPs in every election over the past 40 years.
Danish Ali, born on April 10, 1975, into a Muslim family in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, began his political journey with the Janata Dal (Secular) before joining the BSP in March 2019. He contested the LS polls 2019 and emerged as the winner. &nbsp;His tenure as BSP's leader in the Lok Sabha lasted from November 6, 2019, to January 13, 2020. However, he faced suspension from the BSP on December 9, 2023, due to alleged anti-party activities.
Kanwar Singh Tanwar, a BJP stalwart, hails from Fatehpur Village in Chhatarpur, Delhi. Elected to the Lok Sabha in May 2014 from Amroha seat. Despite his track record, he faced defeat in the 2019 elections against Danish Ali by a significant margin.
Adding to the mix is Mujahid Hussain, the BSP's choice for the constituency, whose political profile and strategies remain to be seen in the electoral arena.

The son of an RSS leader was arrested two days after the double murder of his father and adopted sister. Police said that the prime motive of the murders was a property dispute.&nbsp;

The 42-year-old son of an RSS leader was arrested on Monday in the double-murder case of his father and his sister in Amroha city of Uttar Pradesh.&nbsp;
The Superintendent of Police, Kunwar Anupam Singh said in a statement that Ishank Agarwal, son of Yogesh Chand Agarwal, has confessed to killing his father and adopted sister Srishti, reports Indian Express newspaper.&nbsp;
"Yogesh told police that he committed the murders over property dispute as his father had registered half of his property in the name of Srishti,&rdquo; Singh said.
Police also said that after the murder, Ishank registered a false complaint blaming unidentified attackers for the double murder. He stated in his complaint that he and his wife had dinner with his father and Srishti on the night of February 9 and went to sleep in his room on the first floor while his father and sister lived on the ground floor.
&ldquo;Earlier, he also told police that neither he nor his wife could hear any voice that night when the murders allegedly took place,&rdquo; police said.
But as the probe team found evidence of attempts made to wipe out blood stains from the room where the two were found killed, police got suspicious of Ishank&rsquo;s involvement in the murder.
Singh further said, &ldquo;The throats of Yogesh Chand Agarwal and Srishti were slit with a sharp weapon. We found blood stains on the staircase leading to the first floor, where Ishank and his wife claimed they were sleeping at the time of the incident. There were 15 CCTV cameras installed in the house, but none were working. These all things made us suspicious that anyone close to the family could be the killer. We detained Ishank and on questioning, he confessed to killing his father and Srishti."
