Taking to Instagram, Ali Zafar clarified that he was not present at the Faiz Mela nor aware of what was said by Javed Akhtar until the next day when he saw it on social media.

Pakistani singer Ali Zafar took to social media to condemn lyricist Javed Akhtar&rsquo;s comment about the 26/11 terror attacks he made at an event in Lahore. The singer, who has worked in Bollywood films like &lsquo;Mere Brother Ki Dulhan&rsquo; and &lsquo;Dear Zindagi&rsquo;, called the remark &lsquo;insensitive&rsquo; and &lsquo;uncalled for&rsquo;. He also clarified that while he performed for Mr Akhtar when he was in the country, it wasn&rsquo;t on the same day as the incident.
&lsquo;I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani would appreciate any statement against its country or people specially at an event meant to bring hearts closer than further. We all know how much Pakistan has suffered and continues to suffer at the hands of terrorism and such insensitive and uncalled-for remarks can deeply hurt the sentiments of so many people,&rsquo; he said.
The singer further requested his followers to verify facts before reaching any conclusion or judgment. He said, &lsquo;Guys, I love you all and truly value your praise and criticism equally. But I always request one thing-verify facts before reaching any conclusion or judgment. I was not present at the Faiz Mela nor aware of what was said until the next day when I saw it on social media.&rsquo;
For the unversed, a day prior to the incident, Ali Zafar sang Akhtar&rsquo;s penned song &lsquo;Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga&rsquo; from &lsquo;1942: A Love Story&rsquo;. He shared the video on Instagram and wrote, &lsquo;The universe brings the opportunity to sing one of my favourite love songs written by the legendary @jaduakhtar sahab in front of him for the love of my life @ayeshafazli.&rsquo;

Lyricist Javed Akhtar who had recently visited Pakistan for Faiz Literary Festival received a warm welcome from the organisers and others who attended the event.
A viral video from Lahore shows Pakistani actor and singer Ali Zafar singing Kishore Kumar's song 'Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main' with Akhtar in presence as guest of honour.
The veteran poet can be seen enjoying the musical aura as he too sang the song in chorus.
Sharing the clip Zafar tweeted, "It was an honour to host him. I have always believed art &amp; music transcends boundaries and is the best way to bring people together. Love is the ONLY way to peace. Thank you @Javedakhtarjadu sahab for gracing us with your presence. Thank you Faiz sahab for keeping us connected."
At the lit fest, Akhtar slammed Pakistan for its role in the 26/11 attacks saying that the perpetrators of the deadly attacks were still roaming freely in the country.

Taking to Twitter, the singer told the student to not look for physics in his songs and respect teachers.&nbsp;
