The market is buzzing with whispers of a big buyout. Reports indicate that Bharti Airtel  in early talks to acquire a majority stake in Dish TV India Ltd as per unnamed sources reports Mint. 
This deal would give India’s second-largest telecom operator control of half of the country’s satellite television business. Bharti Airtel executives have had discussions with Essel Group founder Subhash Chandra for the transaction, the sources told Mint. Unnamed senior executives were quoted as saying that "Bharti Airtel has offered ₹20 a share, a 16% premium to Wednesday’s closing price, to buy the 5.93% stake of Dish TV’s promoter group and once Mr. Chandra approves the deal, he will make a recommendation to the chairman (of Dish TV), who, along with the board, will then take an independent opinion."
It is to be noted that only after Airtel is able to aquire the stake from Subash Chandra will they reportedly approach Yes Bank which is the largest shareholder of the company right now. Dish TV’s promoters pledged their shares to take loans from Yes Bank between December 2016 and July 2018. Yes Bank invoked the pledge last year after Essel Group stopped servicing the loans. Yes Bank has been looking to revamp the board at Dish TV to remove all connections with the promoter group mirroring the saga ongoing at Zee with invesco.

Telecom&nbsp;major Bharti&nbsp;Airtel's&nbsp;board has approved raising Rs 21,000 crore&nbsp;via a rights issue.
The funds are expected to be utilised to bolster Airtel's cash reserves to pay statutory dues, deepen its 4G network and expand in the&nbsp;5G space.
As per its release,&nbsp;shareholders will receive one new share for every 14 shares held at Rs 535 each, which is at a 10% discount to the stock's closing price&nbsp;of Rs 594 on Friday. 25% of the payment will be done on the application and the balance in two more calls within an overall time horizon of 36 months.
The promoter and the promoter group of Bharti&nbsp;Airtel will collectively subscribe to the full extent of their aggregate rights entitlement.
This is the company&rsquo;s second rights issue in just over two years &mdash; it had raised Rs25,000 crore in May 2019.&nbsp;
As of end-June, the company had net debt of around Rs 1.6 lakh crore.
According to Goldman Sachs, Airtel needs to pay Rs 4,100 crore in adjusted gross revenue dues to the government by March 2022, and also has spectrum fee payments of Rs 8,500 crore coming up in FY23.

For the first time in seven months, Reliance Jio&nbsp;has beaten Bharti&nbsp;Airtel&nbsp;in terms of adding new subscribers. In February, India's largest telecom&nbsp;company added 4.4 million users while Airtel&nbsp;added 3.5 million subscribers, as per the data released by the Telecom&nbsp;Regulatory Authority of India.
Vodafone&nbsp;Idea added subscribers for the first time in 15 months. Its user base rose by about half a million subscribers in February.

While the firms have not been included in the six-month 5G trials, they have not been banned from supplying 5G equipment to carriers.

The Sensex&nbsp;gained over 350 points to close the session at 50,614 and the NSE&nbsp;Nifty rose 0.71% to end the trade near 14,900. With this, the Bombay Stock Exchange or BSE has crossed the market capitalisation of ₹200 lakh&nbsp;crore.
SBI, ITC, Bajaj&nbsp;Finance, Shree&nbsp;Cements and ONGC&nbsp;were the top five market movers for the day. However, Asian&nbsp;Paints, UPL, Cipla, IndusInd&nbsp;Bank and Bharti&nbsp;Airtel&nbsp;were the top five losers.

Bharti Airtel&nbsp;has become the first Indian telco&nbsp;to test 5G wireless service&nbsp;over commercial network in Hyderabad, the company&rsquo;s chief executive Gopal Vittal said on Thursday.&nbsp;The trial shows the 5G readiness of Airtel&rsquo;s network across all domains.&nbsp;The telco will be able to roll out the services across several parts of the country as soon as the department of telecommunications permits the commercial launch of 5G and auctions spectrum in the mid-size bands that is 3,300-3,600MHz, Vittal said.

Bharti Airtel&nbsp;has moved the Supreme Court over arithmetical errors in the&nbsp;telecom&nbsp;department's calculation of adjusted gross revenue (AGR)-related dues.&nbsp;Vodafone Idea may follow suit in the coming days, some reports said.
Airtel claims that total AGR dues payable on account of the license fee is limited to ₹21,000 crore, CNBC&nbsp;TV18 reported. However, the demand raised by DoT of ₹43,989 crore includes license fee dues and spectrum usage charges, of which the telco&nbsp;has paid ₹18,004 crore.
Vodafone Idea&rsquo;s total dues are currently at ₹58,254 crore. If only licence fee will be considered, total dues will come down to ₹28,308 crore, as per CNBC&nbsp;TV18's estimates. Vodafone&nbsp;Idea has already paid ₹7,854 crore.
Following the development, the scrips of Bharti&nbsp;Airtel&nbsp;and Vodafone&nbsp;Idea surged as much as 2.5% on the NSE.
