<p>Following the massive box office success of "Dhurandhar", Ranveer Singh on Tuesday shared the highly anticipated teaser of "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", the film's second part, which showcases his character of spy-gangster Hamza Ali Mazari transform into a killing machine in his quest for vengeance.</p>
<p>At the end of the over one-minute-long teaser, Singh's voiceover declares "Ye naya Hindustan Hai, ghar me ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi" (It's new India. We will not only infiltrate the enemy territory but also kill).</p>

<p>After earning over Rs 1,000 crore in theatres, Aditya Dhar&rsquo;s blockbuster Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and others, is now streaming on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, reaching audiences worldwide.</p>

<p>After smashing box office records by earning over Rs 1,000 crore in its theatrical run, "Dhurandhar" started streaming on Netflix from Friday with director Aditya Dhar calling it a new chapter for the movie that stayed in cinemas for more than a month.</p>
<p>Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, the film broke many records to emerge as the highest-earning single-language Hindi film in India with India net collections crossing a massive Rs 1,000 crore.</p>
<p>The film released in theatres on December 5 but continued to be watched till January before its Netflix premiere. The audiences can also watch the film in Tamil and Telugu in addition to Hindi on the streaming platform.</p>
<p>"The theatrical response to 'Dhurandhar' was deeply humbling, especially witnessing audiences connect with its story, characters, and scale. <p>The strong audience turnout highlights a renewed interest in cinema-going in the region, reflecting a robust appetite for big-screen entertainment even in areas without multiplex infrastructure.</p>
<p>The film's impressive performance has been supported by Citara, a multiplex chain operating small-format theatres with seating capacities of 100&ndash;150 across Jammu &amp; Kashmir.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In towns such as Shopian and Pulwama, where conventional multiplexes are absent, these theatres have provided local audiences the chance to enjoy films on the big screen.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dhurandhar has maintained high occupancy levels in these locations, demonstrating the viability of smaller cinema formats when pricing and scale are adapted to local market realities.</p>
<p>Trade observers noted that these compact theatres are addressing a long-standing structural gap in exhibition rather than competing with large multiplex chains. India remains significantly underscreened outside its metro cities. While multiplex expansion has increased screen growth over the past decade, larger capacities and premium pricing have often impacted occupancy levels in non-metro markets. Consequently, smaller theatres with controlled seating and lower operating costs are increasingly being seen as a sustainable model for Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns.</p>
<p>Commenting on the audience response, Rahul Nehra, Managing Director of Citara Plex, said, "Our focus has been on building right-sized cinemas for smaller markets. The response to Dhurandhar in towns like Shopian and Pulwama reinforces our belief that audiences will come to theatres when the experience is affordable, accessible and close to home."</p>

<p>Actor Hrithik Roshan has praised Aditya Dhar&rsquo;s latest spy action thriller "Dhurandhar", saying the film&rsquo;s cinematic ambition left a strong impact on him even though he &ldquo;may disagree with the politics&rdquo; it presents.</p>
<p>Released on December 5, the high-octane spy thriller is directed and written by Aditya Dhar.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the film follows covert intelligence operations set against a backdrop of geopolitical events. Roshan shared a detailed note on Wednesday, calling "Dhurandhar" an example of immersive storytelling.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. 'Dhurandhar' is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It&rsquo;s cinema,&rdquo; he wrote on his Instagram Stories.</p>

<p>The actor added that while he differed with the film&rsquo;s political stance, he was compelled to appreciate its craft.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can&rsquo;t ignore how I loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing,&rdquo; Roshan said.</p>
<p>"Dhurandhar", which also features Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, has performed strongly at the box office since its release on December 5.</p>
<p>The film has also sparked significant conversation online, including debates around its themes and politics, with several reviews describing it as &ldquo;anti-Pakistan&rdquo; and propagandist in tone.&nbsp;</p>
<p>On Thursday morning, Roshan posted another note, saying the film continued to stay with him.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Still can&rsquo;t get Dhurandhar out of my mind. @adityadharfilms you are an incredible maker man,&rdquo; he posted, while also praising the ensemble cast.</p>
<p>He singled out their performances, saying &ldquo;@ranveersingh the silent to the fierce &mdash; what a journey and so damn consistent. #AkshayeKhanna has always been my fav and this film is proof why. @actormaddy bloody mad grace, strength and dignity!! But man @rakeshbedi what you did was phenomenal.. what an ACT, brilliant!!&rdquo; he wrote.</p>

<p>The makers have revealed through a post-credit scene that a part two of "Dhurandhar" will arrive in theatres on March 19, 2026 and Roshan said he is &ldquo;eagerly waiting for&rdquo; it."</p>

<p>Aditya said, &lsquo;We have put that on the back burner right now. I&rsquo;ll be honest, the kind of vision we all had for that, it was too big to work for Indian cinema. The kind of VFX quality we were looking at, nobody has even strived for it here. Until the technology becomes affordable or cinema halls increase, we&rsquo;ll have to wait.&rsquo;</p>
<p>Drawing parallels with James Cameron's approach, Aditya Dhar emphasized the importance of waiting for the right conditions to develop before embarking on a project.</p>
<p>&lsquo;Even he waited for the market to grow, for the tech to come to the level where he could actually present it. I&rsquo;m, of course, not him, but if we have to achieve excellence, there can&rsquo;t be any mediocrity. I can&rsquo;t make it for the heck of it. Even if it takes five years of my prime time, the film has to be brilliant,&rsquo; he said.</p>

<p>Aditya Dhar, who achieved acclaim by winning the National Film Award for Best Director for his debut film &lsquo;Uri: The Strike,&rsquo; has ventured into writing and producing with his latest project titled &lsquo;Article 370.&rsquo; The film is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and features Yami Gautam, Priyamani as part of the cast. The trailer for &lsquo;Article 370&rsquo; was unveiled recently, with the film scheduled to hit screens on February 23.</p>
