The World Health Organization said on Friday it has suspended popular anti-viral drug remdesivir from its list of medicines used to treat Covid-19 patients. WHO's has taken off remdesivir from its prequalification list, which is an official list of medicines used as a benchmark for procurement by developing countries. The move came after the UN body advised against its use in hospitalised Covid-19 patients saying there is no evidence that the drug helps in treatment.
