In a first-of-its kind study on the long term effects of vaping, it has been found that vaping is associated with an increased risk of respiratory diseases. The study, which was published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, has examined the link between e-cigarettes and respiratory disease during a period of three years. While vaping is believed to be a safer alternative to smoking, it increases the risk of chronic pulmonary diseases like asthma and bronchitis by 30 percent. The study examined 32,000 U.S adults without any previous signs of lung disease between 2013 and 2016.
