Hardik Pandya-led team's finishers, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia rose to the occasion once again as they helped their team register their 7th victory of the season after defeating RCB by 6 wickets.
Chasing 171, the opening pair of Gujarat, Saha, and Gill gave a steady start to the team building a 51-run partnership, but they soon lost their wickets in quick successions. Thereafter, the team lost a couple of more wickets. It was only after David Miller and Tewatia came on the crease that Gujarat brought the game back on track. With a 79-run stand, Tewatia and Miller once again helped their team register an easy final over win.
In the first innings, Kohli and Patidar's 99-run stand helped set the stage for a decent target for RCB after losing their skipper early. Both players smashed their a 50. However, after they lost their wickets, it was difficult for the players to build on their momentum. But Maxwell and Lomror's cameo of 33 and 16 helped them post a 170-run total.
Earlier, Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and decided to bat first in the match 43rd of Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022) where they will take on a confident Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Brabourne Stadium in the first match of the doubleheader on Saturday.
