Three of Rohit's eight T20I innings against Pakistan have seen him dismissed within the first two balls.

Pakistan have lost their last four Asia Cup matches, across formats, to India. On each of those four occasions, India batted second.

Of 14 completed games between the two sides in the tournament, India have won nine.

When Pakistani legend Inzamam-ul-Haq questioned Babar Azam how he felt about being compared with Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson, the 27-year-old who made his debut in Green in 2015 said that being grouped with top players like Kohli boosts his confidence, pushes him to perform better.

Similarly, when Virat Kohli who is almost 7 years senior to Babar Azam, was asked about the Pakistan skipper, Kohli was all praise for his supposed 'rival'.

Rahul Dravid may be known as an intense person in general but his comment during a press conference ahead of India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 clash left journalists in splits.

Dravid was asked about Pakistan's bowling line-up doing well against India, and while he admitted that they had a good lineup, he also defended his bowlers.

Competing alongside Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the round-robin Super 4, India and Pakistan are fancied to finish top-two to set up a yet another Sunday showdown in the Asia Cup final here on September 11.

"Playing India is always a pressure game. Even people outside Asia wait for it. Obviously, it's always like a 'final' as there's so much passion involved in this game.

"We have to play good cricket and make the final. Obviously, we have to strengthen our cricket and put in the hard work," the 30-year-old said.

Excited to face arch-rivals India for the second time in the Asia Cup on Sunday, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan said his team-mates had joked each other that it's a "best of three-match series" between the two sides in the ongoing continental tournament.

"Fans from both countries anticipate the third meeting in next week's final. We have jokingly said among ourselves that it's a best of three-match series (between India and Pakistan)," Rizwan said.

Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out of the Asia Cup here due to a suspected side strain.

Dahani is the third Pakistan pacer after Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wasim Jr to be ruled out of the tournament.

"He has complained off a side strain after the match against Hong Kong and he is being monitored but the medical team will probably decide to have a scan after 48 to 72 hours," a PCB official aware of the developments in the Pakistan team said.

"Dahani is with the team but the indications are he might not play in remaining matches of the tournament and will require proper rehab," he added. Dahani took one wicket in the two matches that he has played in the tournament, at an economy rate of 6.

Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by four wickets in their Super 4 match of the Asia Cup here on Saturday.

Sri Lanka chased down the target of 176 with five balls to spare with useful contributions from Kushal Mendis (36), Pathum Nissanka (35), Danushka Gunathilaka (33) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (31).

For Afghanistan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets apiece.

Earlier, put in to bat, Afghanistan scored 175 for 6 with opener and wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scoring with a 45-ball 84 while Ibrahim Zadran contributed 40.

For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka took two wickets while Maheesh Theekshana and Asitha Fernando got one each.
