Indian men's and women's teams assured themselves of medals at the Asian Games after progressing to the semifinals of the squash events.
While the men's team blanked Nepal 3-0 in its final pool tie, the women were handed a 0-3 loss by Malaysia in their last pool B fixture.
Both teams sealed top two spots in their respective pools to make the semifinals which guarantees them at least a bronze.
The Indian women's team began the day with veteran Joshna Chinappa enduring a 6-11, 2-11, 8-11 defeat to Subramaniam Sivasangari in 21 minutes.
In the second match, Tanvi Khanna squandered a 2-1 lead before going down to Commonwealth Games gold medallist Aifa Binti Azman 9-11, 11-1, 7-11, 13-11, 11-5.
In the concluding league match, 15-year-old Anahat Singh went down to Malaysia's Rachel Mae Arnold in straight sets (7-11, 7-11, 12-14).
In the men's team event, Abhay Singh defeated Amrit Thapa Magar 11-2, 11-4, 11-1 in 17 minutes.
In the second match, Mahesh Mangaonkar thrashed Arhant Keshar Simha 11-2, 11-3, 11-3 also in a 17-minute affair Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu then completed the whitewash by beating Amir Bhlon 11-1, 11-2, 11-6 in just 12 minutes.&nbsp;

The Indian duo beat the Korean pair of Soonwoo Kwon and Seongchan Hong in the semis. The Indians won the first set comfortably by a score of 6-1. The Korean pair though fought back in the second set, winning it in the tiebreak to tie the match at one set apiece.&nbsp;
However, Myneni and Ramanthan reigned supreme in the super tiebreak. They didn't lose a single point and won the super tiebreak 10-0 to storm into the final.
They will now face Chinese Taipei's Jason Jung and Yu-hsiou Tsu in the Gold medal match.

Unfortunately, his compatriot Hriday Vipul Chheda was eliminated after his horse suffered an injury.
Earlier, Anush Agarwalla, along with his team of Hriday Chheda, Divyakriti Singh and Sudipti Hajela combined to win the equestrian team dressage gold medal at the Asian Games 2023.

T20I captain Aiden Markram will be leading the side in the two warm-up clashes in absence of Bavuma, who is likely to rejoin the team ahead of their opening game.

Judge Sarah Huggett acquitted the 32-year-old player as he sat at Sydney's Downing Centre District Court on Thursday listening to the decision.
Huggett found that the alleged victim, who cannot be legally named, was an intelligent witness who did not deliberately give false evidence about the use of a condom but was motivated by a desire to paint the cricketer in an unfavorable light.
&ldquo;I find that the evidence regarding the complaint far from supports the complainant. Rather it undermines the reliability of her evidence,&rdquo; she said.
Gunathilaka and the woman met for drinks at a bar before having pizza together in downtown Sydney and catching a ferry to the woman's home in the city's eastern suburbs.
The woman accused him of various acts of aggression and violence. Police initially brought four charges against the 32-year-old, who was arrested at a city hotel just hours before Sri Lankan team was due to fly out home on November 6.
Prosecutors later dropped three of those charges.
Gunathilaka maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to one count of sexual intercourse without consent.
During the judge-alone trial, defense lawyers attacked the credibility of the woman, claiming her story shifted over time and that she edited her version of events to paint Gunathilaka as an aggressive person.
Gunathilaka was on bail during the trial, but was unable to play international cricket or return to his hometown of Colombo in Sri Lanka.
He traveled to Australia with Sri Lanka's ICC T20 World Cup squad last year, but only played in the team's first game before being ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury.&nbsp;

Roshibina Devi, who won a silver medal in women's 60kg category Wushu, felt sad about not winning gold in Asian Games 2023.
However, she was still happy with her second-place finish.
'I am a little sad as I couldn't win gold for India but I managed to win silver and it also makes me happy.'
Roshibina went on to dedicate the medal to the Manipur people.&nbsp;
'I dedicate this medal to my Manipur people who are fighting for Manipur and protecting my homeland.'
'I will be better prepared next time and will try and win gold,' Roshibina concluded.

After a successful day 5 at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, India will be looking to add more medals to their tally on September 29, with several medal events taking place in shooting, athletics, squash and tennis.
Day 6 of the Asian Games will also mark the start of athletics events and India will have 11 athletes participating across several events all through the day. While Sandeep Kumar and Vikash Singh will feature in the men's 20km race walk final, Priyanka Goswami will be part of the women's event, with both events starting at 4:30 am IST. India will also have other participants in other medal events later in the day - Rachna Kumari and Tanya Chaudhary in Women's Hammer Throw, and Kiran Baliyan and Manpreet Kaur in Women's Shot Put.
In Shooting, India have won 13 medals already at the Asian Games but they will have the opportunity to add to their medal rush on day 6. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran will feature for India in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions while Esha Singh, Divya TS and Palak will take part in the women's 10m Air Pistol events.
In squash, India are assured of bronze in both men's and women's team events, but the colour of the medal can change depending on how they fare in the semifinals on Friday. In tennis too, Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan will play the gold medal match in men's doubles.

Axar, initially part of the provisional squad, couldn't recover from a left quadriceps strain sustained during an Asia Cup match against Bangladesh on September 15. 37-year-old Ashwin is already in Guwahati for India's warm-up clash against England scheduled for September 30.
Ashwin's return to the ODI format was highlighted by his impactful performances during two of the three home ODIs against Australia. Displaying his full range of skills, he clinched four wickets in these matches, with an impressive 3 for 41 in the second ODI at Indore.&nbsp;
The inclusion of Ashwin bolsters the variety in India's spin attack, combining off-spin alongside Ravindra Jadeja's left-arm orthodox and Kuldeep Yadav's left-arm wrist spin. Earlier, with Axar in the squad, India only had 3 left-arm spin options in the squad.

Nishanth, currently in his second year of U-19 cricket, joined the pool of net bowlers available to the Pakistan team, showcasing his potential during their practice session following a high-profile arrival in the city.
Pakistan is gearing up to face New Zealand in a World Cup warm-up fixture, making these practice sessions crucial for fine-tuning their gameplay. Amongst the net bowlers, Nishanth stood out, especially after seasoned bowlers like Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi had completed their turns. The Pakistani support staff, including bowling coach Morne Morkel, singled out Nishanth from the group of eager net bowlers. Despite Pakistani bowlers typically delivering at speeds of 140-150 kmph, they urged the young Hyderabad pacer to increase his pace significantly.
In response to this feedback, Nishanth expressed his commitment to enhancing his pace.
