The agony of falling inches short in the 2019 ODI World Cup final still lingers for New Zealand's passionate fans as they brace for the 2023 campaign starting on October 5.

Under the leadership of Kane Williamson, the team is undoubtedly strong. However, they've tasted the bitterness of World Cup final defeat twice in a row.

Subsequently, Pakistan inflicted a devastating 4-1 loss on them in the summer. Yet, just before the World Cup, they triumphed by defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in a 3-match series.
