Hardik Pandya injury update: All-rounder to be taken to Bengaluru, to miss IND vs NZ: report | World Cup

In a worrisome update for Team India, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be rushed to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru where he will be treated for his ankle injury, The Indian Express reported on Friday.

Pandya will miss India's next game against New Zealand in Dharamsala as he receives treatment, the report stated.

Quoting a BCCI official, The Indian Express wrote, 'He will be heading to Bengaluru where he has been asked to report to the NCA. The medical team assessed his ankle scan report and it looks he will be fine by taking an injection. The BCCI consulted a specialist doctor in England and they too were of the similar opinion. He will be missing the next game.'

Hardik seemed to have twisted his ankle during the first innings of the India vs Bangladesh clash on October 19 and limped off the pitch after being unable to finish his over.

He was taken for scans thereafter and did not play for the rest of the game.

Skipper Rohit Sharma had provided an update on the vice-captain's injury post the game stating, 'He (Hardik) pulled up a bit sore, nothing really major to worry. We’ll see how he pulls up tomorrow morning and then plan on how to go forward.'
