CWG medal tally: India strengthen their position at 5th spot with 3 Gold medals in Wrestling on August 6

On Day 9 of the Commonwealth Games 2022, India won six medals in wrestling and two medals each in Athletics and Para Table Tennis. Out of the six medals in wrestling, three were Gold while three were Bronze. Wrestlers Ravi Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat and Naveen won gold medals for the country.

Meanwhile, Avinash Sable won the silver medal in the steeplechase, while Priyanka Goswami created history by winning a silver in the 10,000-metre race walk. In Lawn Bowl, Men's Four team suffered a heartbreak and have to settle with a Silver. By the end of Day 9 (August 6), India strengthened their position at 13 Golds, 11 Silvers and 16 Bronze medals,

Moreover, Australia continue to be at the top spot with 155 medals, while hosts England have 148 medals. Canada are third with 84 medals, while fourth place is occupied by New Zealand.
