Maruti Suzuki Baleno Sales Cross The 1 Million Mark

Maruti Suzuki India has announced that the Baleno premium hatchback has achieved the 1 million sales milestone in the country. First launched in October 2015, the Baleno has completed 6 years in the Indian market, which makes it the fastest premium hatchback to cross the landmark figure. The company sells an average of over 13,000 units of the Baleno every month, holding a 25 per cent market share in the premium hatchback space. Sales crossed the 1 lakh mark in the first year itself, while the model crossed the 3 lakh sales mark by December 2017. Sales increased to 7 lakh units by December 2019. Maruti sold over 8 lakh units by October 2020, while the millionth car rolled out in November this year. The Baleno competes against the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz in the segment.
