On Feb 10, Delhi Development Authority carried out a demolition drive in the Mehrauli area of Delhi, razing residential and commercial properties of the people. DDA in a written statement had said that it had started the drive to retrieve &lsquo;encroached DDA land&rsquo; in Mehrauli Archaeological park.
However, the families in the area have been protesting against the drive, calling it &ldquo;illegal.&rdquo; BOOM went and talked with Mehrauli's residential families.

Houses have been burnt and there have been several reports of sexual violence against women. Escaping the turmoil, more than 60,000 people have become refugees as they abandoned their homes to save themselves. The violence has also torn apart several families. During our visit to Manipur, we met Rebecca, 28 whose mother is a Kuki and father is a Meitei.&nbsp;

A 19-year-old non-binary person, Trixie went through conversion therapy. Her parents took her to Karauli Baba’s Ashram in Kanpur in order to change her sexual orientation or gender identity. Following the harrowing ordeal, Trixie shared a video recounting her experience on Instagram, publicly reaching out to numerous support groups in search of help and assistance.

Conversion Therapy aims to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity and it is also known as reparative therapy or gay cure therapy. Despite being declared illegal, it is still practiced secretly in India where parents have resorted to taking their children to hospitals, spiritual leaders (such as babas), and conversion centers, in a misguided attempt to alter their sexual orientation or gender identity.
