Finisher Shahrukh Khan sold for Rs 7.40 Crore to the Gujarat Titans after a bidding war with Punjab Kings! Punjab Kings had previously paid ₹9 Crore for him during the IPL 2022 Auction

Punjab Kings released Shahrukh Khan and Punjab Kings began to bid for him straightaway for his base price of Rs 40 lakh. Gujarat Titans then make a late entry into the race and it is a game of tennis between the two tables now.

Part of the current U-19 batch, seam-bowling all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni is picked up by the Lucknow Super Giants for his base price of ₹20 Lakh
 

The 20-year-old had smashed the most sixes for Kanpur Superstars at the UP T20 League made two blistering hundreds and finished with 455 runs in nine innings, saw a bidding war on his name between GT and CSK which was won by MS Dhoni's side for a whopping 8.4 crore.

Manan Vohra, who featured for IPL teams like Punjab Kings and LSG went unsold this time around.

Rohan Kunnummal, Saurav Chauhan and Priyansh Arya were at a base price of 20 lakh. There are no takers for all three uncapped batters.

His base price, as is the case with most uncapped players, was ₹20 lakh. Shubham Dubey is sold for 5.8 crore to RR. What a moment this is for the Vidarbha batter.  The finisher from Vidarbha, who scored 221 runs in 7 innings at SR of 187 in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Venky Mysore had this to say about that ₹24.75 crore bid. "Somebody told me just now before Starc's bid, they put up something like a historic bid. Very quickly history changed. IPL has changed and the salary cap has changed. Everyone comes with their plans. This is my 14th auction - you know you win some and lose some. Starc was a proffered player from that skillset standpoint. We were not successful in some bids so that favoured us. We were just happy to have him on our side," he said.

From the capped spinners section, top international spinners like Ish Sodhi, Tabraiz Shamsi and Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman went unsold. 

Madhushanka, who had a phenomenal World Cup, is a left-handed seamer who was also the most expensive player in the Lanka Premier League. He will play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.

Jaydev Unadkat was valued at 50 lakh rupees. Unadkat's left-arm skills are sought after by both SRH and DC. The bid has surpassed one crore, and it is with SRH. He also enjoys bowling two bouncers per over. DC returns at 1.1 crore. Jaydev Unadkat sold to SRH for Rs 1.6 crore

Mitchell Starc overtakes his teammate Pat Cummins and becomes the most expensive player in IPL history. He will be paid a whopping INR 24.75 crore from KKR this season. 

Mitchell Starc has arrived. Keep your hats on. The starting price is Rs. 2 crore. DC starts the bidding. Pant quickly raises the paddle for the Australian left-arm quick. DC is challenged by MI. Pant raises his paddle once more. DC and MI compete for the gun overseas quickly. MI takes the lead as the bid rises to Rs. 8 crore. But comes a surprise as KKR comes in at 9.8 crore. The bid has reportedly reached 10 crore. GT. Nehra is a new bidder who prefers left-arm fast bowlers. Starc is back in the IPL after an eight-year absence, but he remains a fan favourite among the franchises. The bid has now gone over 21 crore and Starc is officially now the most expensive IPL player. But, the bid still goes on.

Shivam Mavi's base price was INR 50 lakh and he is currently undergoing treatment for a stress fracture. Mavi, played last season with GT will now feature for LSG in the upcoming season of IPL.

For Umesh Yadav, whose base price was INR 2 crore, we saw a brief exchange between SRH and GT in which GT won the battle and purchased Umesh for 5.8 crore. 

Alzarri Joseph, the WI fast bowler, who was valued at one crore was sold to RCB for a whopping 11.5 crore. 

The India and Saurashtra left-arm had a base price of Rs 50 lakh. He was with DC last season. KKR opened the bidding for the left-armer and was sold to KKR for his base price of 50 lakh

England's wicket-keeper Phil Salt went unsold whereas Delhi Capitals acquired the services of Tristan Stubbs at his base price of 50 lakh.

Woakes had a base price of ₹2 crore and KKR started the bidding. PBKS fought it out for him and in the end, took the England all-rounder for ₹4.20 crore.

Daryl Mitchell was all set to be sold to Punjab Kings for 11.75 crore but CSK popped in with its first bid on Mitchell at 12 crore and PBKS decided to pull-out at 14 crore mark. He will play for CSK. 

Daryl Mitchell will be having a great time as Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are fighting for him. He had a base price of 1 crore before his name popped up and as we type, his bid has gone over 10 crore. Who will win this bid? we will have to wait and watch.

Purple Cap winner from IPL 2021, Harshal Patel will be playing for Punjab Kings in the upcoming season of IPL. The bidding war was between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans throughout but LSG also jumped in for a brief period before it pulled out. In the end, it was PBKS who were successful and won the bidding war for Harshal Patel. 

South African fast bowler Gerald Coetzee who impressed everyone with his bowling during the recently concluded ICC ODI World Cup will be playing for Mumbai Indians during the upcoming season of IPL. 

Sam Curran's record of the most-expensive player is breached by Pat Cummins as he goes to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping 20.5 crore.  

Shardul Thakur will once again be donning the yellow jersey as he is all set to play for CSK in the upcoming season of IPL. He was sold for INR 4 crore.

Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals started the bid for Rachin Ravindra and DC opted out after CSK bid Rs 1 crore but then it was PBKS who jumped into the bidding war and finally, MS Dhoni-led CSK was able to buy Rachin Ravindra for 1.8 crore.

Wanindu Hasaranga was the first name to come out from set 2 of the IPL 2024 auction and it was only Sunrisers Hyderabad who raised their paddle for the Sri Lankan all-rounder and acquired his services at his base price which was 1.5 crore.

Former Australian skipper Steve Smith, who has been in fine form during the ongoing BBL was unable to fetch any buyers during IPL 2024 auction. Whereas, India's first centurion in IPL, Manish Pandey also went unsold. 

Australia's hard-hitting all-rounder Travis Head saw a massive bidding war during the IPL auction 2024 between CSK and SRH in which the Orange army was successful in acquiring his services for 6.8 crore

South African batter Rilee Rossouw failed to get any bidders whereas we saw an intense bidding war for Harry Brook between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals in which DC was able to fetch Harry Brook for INR 4 crore.

West Indies T20I skipper Rovman Powell became the first player to be picked during IPL 2024 auction. Powell had a base price of INR 1 crore and there was an intense bidding war between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals but in the end, it was the inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals, who were successful in acquiring the services of West Indies star all-rounder for the upcoming season.

Hello and welcome to IPL 2024 Auction live coverage at editorji. For the first time, the auction is being held in an international location, the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai. A total of 333 cricketers are set to go under the hammer for IPL season 17. Of those, 214 are Indians and 119 are overseas players. The catch is that only 77 slots, including 30 for foreign cricketers, are up for grabs among the 10 teams. A total of ₹262.96 crore is available to be used by the franchises to buy players of their choice.
