Srinagar's tulip garden enters London's World Book of Records as Asia's largest tulip garden

Srinagar's picturesque Tulip Garden, also known as Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, has achieved a remarkable feat by entering the World Book of Records (London) as Asia's largest tulip garden.

The garden is adorned by 1.5 million tulip bulbs, representing a collection of 68 different varieties.

This tulip garden is located between the iconic Dal Lake and the Zabarwan hills in Srinagar and is spread over 30 hectares. The garden remains open for tourists between 8 am to 7 pm.

Srinagar Tourism indicates that the park, established in 2007, was intended to promote both floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. It is constructed in a terraced manner on sloping terrain, comprising seven terraces.

Each year, the Jammu and Kashmir administration hosts a tulip festival as part of their tourism initiatives, with the goal of highlighting the garden's diverse flower collection. This annual event takes place at the beginning of the spring season.
