Rekha Gupta’s Leadership and Liquor Probe

Delhi Chief Minister रेखा गुप्ता warmly greeted supporters at her residence, celebrating her new role. She plans to propose BJP MLA मोहन सिंह बिष्ट for Deputy Speaker in the Delhi Assembly, supported by MLA अनिल कुमार शर्मा and गजेन्द्र सिंह यादव. The session will also address the contentious CAG report on liquor regulation, which scrutinizes the Aam Aadmi Party's tenure. Prior to the assembly, गुप्ता discussed strategy with BJP members. This CAG audit has stirred controversy, with opposition demanding an in-depth investigation into alleged scandals. गुप्ता's leadership is crucial as she navigates these significant political challenges.
Rekha Gupta’s Leadership and Liquor Probe
Delhi's bustling Thursday morning saw the city's new Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, warmly greeting a stream of well-wishers at her residence. The occasion? Congratulatory visits on her recent ascent to leadership. Meanwhile, the political gears were turning as Gupta prepared to nominate BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht for the prestigious role of Deputy Speaker in the Delhi Assembly. The Legislative Assembly's agenda highlighted this with the motion: "Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister, to move the following motion: 'That, Mohan Singh Bisht, a Hon'ble Member of this House be chosen as the Deputy Speaker of this House.'" Adding to the day's political choreography, another motion was set forth by MLA Anil Kumar Sharma, with Gajender Singh Yadav backing it, both rallying for Bisht's appointment. But the assembly wasn't solely focused on leadership appointments. The session promised heated discussions, particularly around the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report titled 'Performance Audit Report on Regulation and Supply of Liquor in Delhi.' The Chief Minister herself had presented the report earlier, prompting considerable uproar from opposition parties who were quick to call for a more extensive investigation into what they hinted could be a scandal. The report, scrutinizing Delhi’s liquor regulations and supply systems, delves into four fiscal years (2017-18 to 2020-21) and is one of several yet-to-be-addressed critiques from the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Prior to the day’s assembly meeting, Gupta had convened with BJP MLAs to strategize on the report discussions, eager to ensure proceedings went off without a hitch. This political dance, set amidst Delhi's dynamic legislative backdrop, highlighted the new administration's challenges and the continuous tug-of-war in the capital's governance narrative.
