Parents are using AirTags to track their Children's whereabouts; experts warn against it though

Many parents are turning to tracking devices like Apple AirTags to monitor their children's movements in public places. A viral TikTok post features a mom demonstrating how she 'trains' her young children with AirTag bracelets, making them come home when they hear the device's beeping noise.

While tracking technology can be beneficial for safety purposes, child-development experts warn that excessive reliance on such devices might hinder children's development and the parent-child relationship.

The overuse of tracking technology could potentially interfere with children's autonomy and independence, leading to a dependence on constant monitoring rather than fostering their decision-making skills and self-reliance.

Apple's AirTags were introduced in September 2021 to help users locate and keep track of personal items such as keys, wallets and bags. The device costs ₹3,490 for one pack and ₹11900 for a pack of 4.
