Drinking coffee on an empty stomach right after waking up can interfere with your cortisol levels and can actually leave you feeling even more tired later on in the day.

According to experts, the first few sips of deliciously rich brew will give you temporary alertness but later you'll end up feeling fatigued.

When we wake up, our body is dehydrated from having no liquids for up to 8 hours. So, the best time to drink coffee is late in the morning or early afternoon; 3 to 4 hours after getting out of bed. It also increases alertness to get you through the rest of the day.
