World Oral Health Day, observed on March 20th annually, promotes global awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and its impact on overall health. It encourages individuals to maintain good oral habits, such as regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups, to prevent dental diseases and maintain a healthy smile for life.

Dentist, Dr. Wei Jian took to TikTok and revealed three common mistakes people make that could actually harm their teeth.

In a video the dentist instructed viewers to stop nail-biting, teeth grinding and steer clear of toothpicks. These habits may lead to flat and sensitive teeth along with injured and receding gums.

Apart from this, dentists have also warned against consuming energy drinks and crushing ice with your teeth. Ice can fracture or break parts of your teeth as well as cause cracks in your enamel.

World Oral Health Day serves as a reminder of the crucial role oral health plays in achieving overall well-being and emphasizes the significance of access to quality dental care worldwide.
