This is the reason why you should avoid drinking chilled water in summer

Chilled water harms teeth, throat, digestion and hinders weight loss. Instead, opt for room temperature or earthen pot.

This is the reason why you should avoid drinking chilled water in summer

In summer many of us drink chilled water from the fridge or add ice cubes to it. But this has several negative effects on our health.
Drinking water with ice cubes may increase tooth sensitivity and potential toothaches, irritate the throat and lead to discomfort or bloating in some individuals due to the rapid cooling effect on the digestive system. Drinking cold water also impedes the burning of stored body fat, and hinders our weight loss efforts.

So, it's better to opt for room-temperature water or water stored in an earthen pot.

Negative effects of drinking chilled water

Tooth Sensitivity: Chewing on ice cubes or consuming very cold water can exacerbate tooth sensitivity or cause toothaches in some people, particularly those with existing dental issues.

Throat Irritation: Extremely cold water or ice cubes might irritate the throat, especially for individuals with sensitive throats or those prone to conditions like tonsillitis or sore throats.

Digestive Discomfort: Some people may experience discomfort or bloating in the stomach after consuming very cold water, as it can temporarily slow down the digestive process.

Reduced Fat Burning: Drinking cold water may temporarily impede the burning of stored body fat, potentially hindering weight loss efforts.

Exacerbation of Headaches: For some individuals, consuming very cold water or ice cubes may trigger temporary headaches or "brain freeze" due to the rapid cooling of blood vessels in the mouth and throat.

Potential Dental Damage: Chewing on ice cubes can pose a risk of dental damage, including cracked or chipped teeth, which may require dental treatment.
