Now you'll have better excuses to cuddle your partner; know what they are

We all know that good sleep leads to a happy day and cuddling makes it better. Psychologist Nicole LePera shared a post on Instagram about why we need physical touch and its connection to a healthier and happier life. Here are some of the reasons.

Reduces cortisol levels

Chronic stress causes high cortisol, a stress hormone that helps us to work in any panic situation. Cuddling is a great way to reduce the level of stress hormones.

Releases oxytocin

Cuddling helps in releasing oxytocin, also known as love hormone which soothes your mind and body. This also helps in reducing stress and anxiety.

Calms the nervous system

Safe physical touch helps the body send safety signals and calms the mind.

Ends conflict

It has been observed that cuddling after a fight helps people resolve it faster.

Self-touch

According to LePera, in the absence of a partner, self-touch also relaxes the mind and body.
