Nail polish dryer lamps may cause skin cancer: Study

A recent study published in Nature scientific journal claimed that the use of gel nail polish dryer lamps may increase the risk of developing skin cancer.

The findings show that nail polish dryers emit UV light which kills the exposed cells and may cause DNA damage over time. Researchers also found that DNA damage does not get repaired and can also lead to mutations after every exposure to a UV nail dryer.

However, experts suggest using sunscreen on your hands while keeping your hands under a UV dryer can be preventive.
