Busy schedule and lifestyle have made urban families dependent on refrigerators. And even though it is believed that cooked food loses nutrients when stored in fridge, we can&rsquo;t help but store leftovers in fridge. However, author and Instagram influencer Krish Ashok recently shared a video about how long cooked food can be stored in the fridge before it gets stale. &nbsp;
<h3>For how long cooked food should be refrigerated?</h3>
According to him water soluble vitamins are the most vulnerable and tend to easily lose nutrients. He added that nutrients are mostly lost during cooking and not due to refrigeration. If stored in an airtight container, cooked food can last minimum for 2-3 days and maximum for a week in most cases. If kept in the freezer, food can last up to 6 months if the fridge is not switched off at all during that period.&nbsp;
<h3>Exceptional cases&nbsp;</h3>
Boiled/steamed rice might get infected by bacteria even in low temperatures. So, it&rsquo;s best to not refrigerate it more than a day. In summers or humid condition, it&rsquo;s better to eat it within few hours itself.&nbsp;
<h3>Indian food is refrigerator friendly&nbsp;</h3>
Ashok also mentioned in his post that Indian food is uniquely fridge friendly because of the presence of spices, salt and sour elements which are conditions in which microbes don&rsquo;t survive. &nbsp;

The team used data collected over 36 years from more than 75,000 women and 44,085 men. All participants were free of cardiovascular diseases and cancer in the beginning of the study and completed dietary questionnaires every four years who were following at least four kinds of healthy diet like Mediterranean diet and plant-based diets.
People with regular practice of healthy diets were associated with lower risk of cardio vascular diseases and cancer even at the end of the study, researchers concluded.&nbsp;

According to a study published in Journal of Zheijang University Science, broccoli was used to study its nutrients and health-promoting compounds. It was found that almost all cooking methods, except steaming, caused loss of vitamin C and chlorophyll from broccoli.
There was a significant decrease of total soluble proteins and soluble sugars as well. It was hence proved that steaming vegetables, especially broccoli, is much better than cooking.
Study authors concluded by saying that even other vegetables when eaten raw have safety and sanitation concerns due to bacterial contamination.

Even though too much caffeine intake might be harmful for health, according to a new study caffeine, polyphenols and other natural products present in coffee helps reduce the severity of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) among overweight people dealing with type 2 diabetes (T2D).&nbsp;
In the study, participants who consumed more coffee had healthier livers, but those who consumed more caffeine were less likely to develop liver fibrosis, whereas patients who consumed more non-caffeine coffee components had a lower fatty liver index score.&nbsp;
Study authors stated that the research is the first to observe that higher cumulative amounts of both caffeine and non-caffeine metabolites in urine are associated with a reduced severity of NAFLD in overweight people with type 2 diabetes.&nbsp;
