Even though drinking enough water, leading a healthy lifestyle and involving physical activities can combat kidney diseases, consuming carbonated or aerated drinks can surge the risk. According to health experts, carbonated drinks are absolutely poisonous for our kidneys.

A 2015 study suggests that drinking more than 4 sugar-sweetened carbonated drinks per week can prone chronic kidney diseases. High sugar content in these drinks damage blood vessels in the kidneys, increasing the chances of diabetes.

Another ingredient found in such drinks is Phosphoric Acid which can also lead to kidney stones and other kidney diseases. The risk becomes higher for individuals with a family history of kidney diseases. So, keep a check on your consumption of soft drinks with high sugar content.
