Global Handwashing Day 2021: Our Future is at Hand

Global Handwashing Day 2021: Handwashing received a considerable amount of importance during the entire Covid-19 chaos.

As per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention handwashing with soap and water is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and also to stay healthy. CDC estimates that handwashing can help prevent 1 in 3 diarrheal illnesses and 1 in 5 respiratory infections.

Observed on October 15 each year, Global Handwashing day aims at creating awareness about the importance of washing hands with soap and water. The day was first established by the Global Handwashing Partnership in 2008.

The theme for the year 2021 is, Our Future is at Hand-Let’s Move Forward Together. The day shall lay its entire focus on a coordinated action towards addressing the long-term neglect of hand hygiene.
