For some, social media is not just a part of life, it is LIFE. You know some of them or you are 'them'; who are always glued to the phone screen and their lives revolve around it. With this, we are assuming that terms like social media detox and digital minimalism are nothing new to you.

But have you heard about 'Digital Diet'?

Let's get to know what it is and why it is important:

A 'Digital Diet' as the term suggests, is a plan for your digital consumption. In dieting, you usually try to cut down on some carbs for a fit body whereas, in a digital diet, you need to refrain yourself from using social media, for a healthy mind and body.

According to research, constant digital distraction prevents people from the ability to reset their lives. Thus, the cut down on digital consumption plays a crucial role and helps to relax oneself.

How is it different from digital detox?

In digital detox, there should be no digital consumption as you need to give up your devices for a brief period of time. However, in the case of digital diet, you can use your devices and have digital consumption but you have to refrain from its maximum usage for sound mind and body.
