Expert lists out 4 food items that are doing more harm than good

If you have been consuming a lot of fruit juice or drinking loads of oat milk in the hope of getting fitter and losing some stubborn pounds, you are in for a surprise. According to a report, some items that you may be consuming thinking they are healthy, may actually do more bad than good. Wondering what we are talking about? Read on!

Which foods are not good for health?

California-based medic Mijin Brown in her latest TikTok post revealed that some food items that we consume because they are healthy, can actually harm you. Busting myths, the medic revealed that both fruits and fruit juices can harm your blood sugar level and add unnecessary calories to your diet. She claimed that fruits and vegetables that are grown nowadays have more sugar and less nutrition, and hence add unnecessary calories to your diet. Try limiting your fruit intake to 2 cups per day, especially fruits like bananas, mangoes and strawberries.

The TikToker further said that even the best friend for vegans, oat milk is not the best for your health. The presence of preservatives, emulsifiers and thickeners make it an unhealthy alternative to regular milk.

Next on the list is oatmeal. If you are someone who is watching your blood sugar, consuming oatmeal is not the best alternative. Avoid flavoured oatmeal and never add sugar to it!
