Does this viral 'hangover-cure' breakfast work? Know all about it

The New Year is right around the corner, and with it comes a plethora of parties, binge drinking, and yes, even hangovers. Now, nutritionist Cara Shaw claims that this “hangover-cure” breakfast may get you back to achieving your New Year’s resolutions after a night of heavy drinking.

To test this claim, New York Post’s Andrew Court got right into the assignment. He had a heavy drinking session before heading off to bed, and cooked himself the miracle breakfast the next morning. The results were, as slightly expected, way less than promising.

Shaw’s “hangover-cure” breakfast consists of 3 whole eggs cooked in any style, half a cup of mushrooms sautéed in olive oil, half an avocado, a sprinkle of feta cheese, a generous helping of cooked tomatoes, and more olive oil drizzled on top, to taste. Following this recipe, Court prepared the eggs fried sunny side up and took the metaphoric plunge. Not only did the B vitamins from the mushrooms and feta cheese not help in the slightest, but the eggs too had no noticeable effect on the nasty hangover he was experiencing either.

It is safe to say, then, that this “hangover-cure” breakfast may not be as helpful as it claims to be. It's better to drink in moderation, stay hydrated and have carbohydrates rich brekfast the next day to feel better. Incase of worsened case, always seek help from a healthcare professional.
