Do you find 'Teabag style' walk funny? Time to change the perspective as it can be good for health

The 1971 'Monty Python Ministry of Silly Walks' sketch made people go gaga over it and the inefficient walking style of Mr Teabag and Mr Putey became the talk and was found hilarious by people. But looks like, it is not funny anymore. According to research, the 'Teabag style' walk for 11 minutes per day can help adults meet physical activity targets.

The researchers found that adults could achieve 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week by walking in teabag style instead of their usual style for 11 minutes/day.

The findings were published in the journal BMJ and are based on data from 13 healthy adults of which 6 were women and 7 were men. They were aged between 22-71 years with no history of heart or lung disease.

The authors also wrote that this style of walking can help boost cardiovascular fitness.
