People these days are hooked to true crime shows. Thanks to OTT platforms and the various shows made on real life crime incidents. For some, these shows are about solving the mystery while for some it is their way to avoid their life problems and relax their mind. However, a psychologist has warned about watching true crime shows to relax and said that it is a red flag.

Doctor Thema Bryant said that people who watch true crime shows to relax need to rethink the way they deal with their trauma. Doctor Bryant talked about this on The Mel Robbins podcast.

The doctor also said that if the trauma that is portrayed in the true crime show is familiar to you then it is time that you start considering taking counselling.

As the video of the same went viral, several social media users reacted to it. One of the internet users wrote, "The trauma isn't relaxing to me - it's the justice the characters or real people often get that I never did in my own life."

Another social media user said, "For me, it's solving the crime/puzzle, solving the problem."

In the recent past, several true crime shows have been made and they've documented the chilling details that took place when the culprits performed that crime. It is worth taking note that Netflix and other OTT platforms have a major viewership on crime and true crime content.
