From Disney Star to Beauty Mogul: Selena Gomez becomes youngest self-made Billionaire

Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and now Selena Gomez! The 'Dreaming of You' singer has officially entered the billionaire club, becoming one of the few female singers to do so.

At just 32, she is now one of the youngest self-made billionaires, with an estimated fortune of $1.3 billion, according to Bloomberg. Her journey from being a Disney star to joining the three-comma club highlights her sharp business acumen. Her strategic investments and continued success in both entertainment and entrepreneurship have been the key drivers of her wealth.

The bulk of Selena’s wealth comes from Rare Beauty, the makeup brand she launched five years ago. Today, it’s a powerhouse in both the beauty and influencer industries. In the past year alone, Rare Beauty generated an impressive $400 million in net sales, with best-selling products like its liquid blush and lip tints leading the charge. Rumours suggest Gomez is in talks with investors to value Rare Beauty at $2 billion.

Beyond her beauty empire, Gomez has earned millions through endorsement deals with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Coach, and Puma. Her Emmy-nominated role in Hulu’s 'Only Murders in the Building', now in its fifth season, reportedly earned her at least $6 million per season.

But that’s not all. Selena’s wealth also comes from her investments, including her co-founded mental health platform, Wondermind, which launched in 2022. Additionally, she is the most-followed woman on Instagram, with 424 million followers, and her music career continues to thrive, with multiple hits and a Grammy-nominated Latin-pop album, Revelación.

In a recent online session, Selena shared the advice she would give to her younger self: "I was too hard on myself. I didn’t think I was enough or sometimes felt like I didn’t fit in. But in the end, you’re exactly who you’re meant to be."Share your take on Selena’s journey in the comments section.
