What happens inside the Met Gala? Ticket prices, guests and all you need to know

This year's version of Met Gala is just a few days away and we cannot wait to see all the looks. For the uninitiated, Met Ball or the Met Gala is a fundraiser which is dedicated to New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

While we all know what happens on the red carpet, have you ever wondered what happens when you enter the venue and head to the main event? Read on to know more!

What happens inside the MET Gala

This year the theme of Met gala is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ and an official dress code of ‘The Garden of Time’. Many beauties from the world of Hollywood including Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Anna Wintour will be seen in attendance at the event.

According to a report by Vogue, Met Gala requires every celebrity to switch off their phones as soon as they enter the premises. While many share bathroom pictures, no one is allowed to post selfies or give live updates about the event.

According to a report by Business Insider, around 600 and 700 people attended the event, ranging from A-list stars to designers to employees from Vogue, the Met and some brand sponsors.

Once inside, the guests are given a tour of the museum, typically through the Costume Institute's upcoming exhibit. They then mingle for cocktails and sit down for a state-of-the-art dinner.

The cost to attend the Met Gala is around 40 lakh. Sometimes designers can get a table discount depending on the size of the brand and its relationship with Vogue.
