All you need to do is apply two coats of nail polish and ensure it's slightly dry. Then, dip your newly polished nails into a glass of ice water for as long as possible. This hack is a must-try at home and is a favourite among girls.

A TikToker called 8kateee shared her hack to "lock in" nail polish.

The beauty guru, who has garnered a staggering 200,000 followers thanks to her handy makeup tips, said: "Some of you don't know the ice track when doing your nails and I actually have no idea how you're getting normal polish to look halfway decent.

Kate applied two coats of nail paint, allowing the second to dry "slightly" before dipping her hand into a glass full of ice water for "as long as [she] can". Approximately 20 seconds should do the trick.
