The World Health Organisation has issued a statement on X regarding an unexpected rise in respiratory issues among Chinese individuals. It mentions that WHO has made an official request to China for detailed information on an increase in respiratory illnesses and reported clusters of pneumonia in children.
In an exclusive discussion with Editorji, Dr. Venkat Ramesh, Infectious Disease Physician, Apollo Hyderabad sheds light on what the disease is and if at all it is dangerous to India.&nbsp;
According him, "There has been an increase in respiratory infections among children and teachers in China because of which schools have been closed. The cause of the infection is still not known. The WHO is still working with the Chinese authorities and trying to determine the cause."
He also added that one possible suspect is a bacteria called micro plasma pneumonia which might cause respiratory infections and outbreaks. Though it is unclear whether it is a new respiratory virus or it is an existing pathogen. It is too early to say what it's effect on India would be.&nbsp;
However, unless WHO reports a new pathogen, we should not worry. It is likely that it is just an unusual surge of respiratory infections because it is occurring in winters and that happens in the Northern hemisphere at this time. There is also a remote possibility that it could be new virus but there's nothing to worry about it. If it is something alarming, it would surely come to our notice quite early because of our earlier experience with SARS-CoV-2 and the entire world being on high alert, Dr. Ramesh concluded.

For the nests, mash 3 -4 big potatoes and add grated onions, coriander leaves and paneer and green chilly followed by salt, red chilly powder, chaat masala, roasted jeera powder and turmeric. Then mix maida, cornflour, red chilly and water and mix. Dip the nest shaped potato mix in it and coat them with roasted vermicelli and set them aside. For the eggs, take mashed paneer, add salt, balck pepper and cornflour. Mix them well and make small balls. Deep fry the nests and the eggs. Garnish the nests with green chutney and your favourite sauces. Put the eggs into it and a small coriander leaf and serve.

However, many guests end up taking advantage of the services provided and stealing luxury items and products from the hotels they visit. A recent survey has revealed the top items that are frequently stolen, and the list will surely surprise you!
What are the most common items stolen?
According to a survey, guests are more likely to steal from a 5-star hotel than a 4-star hotel. While the research shows that guests even steal mattresses and TV sets, the most common item stolen from hotels is towels. A whopping 79.29 per cent of hotel owners revealed that guests most often take home towels, while 66.4 per cent of guests take home bathrobes. The next item that is most stolen from deluxe hotels is hangers.&nbsp;
Guests also love to take home pens and 36.5 per cent of the guests cannot resist packing some free cosmetics available at the hotels. Other items that came up in the survey were light bulbs, TV Sets, hair dryers and even mini fridges!
11.4 per cent of people cannot help but steal coffee machines to get that perfect cup of cappuccino. 6.6 per cent of hotel guests have even ended up stealing mattresses!
