National Costume for Miss Universe takes 'Sone Ki Chidiya' quite literally

India was known as 'Sone ki Chidiya' or 'the Golden Bird' as it was a country of abundance before colonisation. But she is still 'Sone Ki Chidiya' as it is a country of cultural diversity.

Miss Diva, Divita Rai presented the National Costume for the 71st edition of Miss Universe called 'Sone Ki Chidiya' aka The Golden Bird and the outfit was surely speaking out loud for the nation's golden heritage, economy, diversity and culture.

Talking about the outfit, it has been designed by Delhi-based fashion designer Abhishek Sharma. It was a golden lehenga paired with a full-sleeved blouse with detailing of golden feathers. What caught everyone's attention were the humongous golden wings that were attached to the back of the dress.
