Mothers divided over viral beauty trend ‘birthing makeup’

Amidst a world full of filters and social media trends, here comes another one called 'birthing make up'. Yes, as the name suggests it is basically being glamorous even when you are about to give birth or nursing a new born.

Hashtag garnered over 80 million views

Till now it was only a trend followed by celebs like the Kardashians, Heidi Montag or influencer Hannah Elizabeth. But now #birthingmakeup is trending on TikTok with millions of women taking a cue, with over 81.3 million views on the video linked to the hashtag.

Mixed reaction from women

Although some women have backlashed the trend saying these trends create an unrealistic picture of giving birth and make the mothers who do not follow the trend, look miserable, another mother commented, “For me, putting on foundation, bronzer, mascara and lipstick brought me back to feeling myself after I’d given birth."

Motherhood has no one side and is different for everyone

In simple words, it’s your world and your wish. Following or not following a trend will not change anything that a mother goes through while birthing or afterwards. Motherhood is different for everyone and does not have to have just one side to it.
