Met Gala 2024: Ed Sheeran makes his red carpet debut, netizens not impressed by his look

This year, singer Ed Sheeran made his Met Gala debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The ultimate girl group joined the singer at the event with model/actor Cara Delevingne, singer FKA twigs, and fashion designer Stella McCartney.
The singer donned a shiny light-blue suit with a rhinestone-covered matching open bow tie.

As the singer's pictures went viral on social media, many fans mocked his look and compared it with Zac Efron's famous prom scene from High School Musical 3.

The theme of this year's Met Gala

This year, the Met Gala will celebrate the Costume Institute’s exhibition titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” The official dress code is “The Garden of Time,” inspired by J.G. Ballard‘s short story written in the 1960s.

Among the attention-grabbing looks were Doja Cat's nearly-naked towel ensemble, Emily Ratajkowski's crystal-covered sheer outfit sans undergarments, and Rita Ora's X-rated see-through gown. While some criticized Ed for his bold outfit, others targeted male celebrities like co-chairs Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth for playing it safe.
