Kangana Ranaut wears Kinnauri ensemble for Lok Sabha Election campaigns, flaunts a 'Chamba Gaddi dress'

Kangana Ranaut has been busy with the campaigns for the Lok Sabha Elections. The actor recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and is contesting for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh. For her campaigns, the actor picked traditional Himachali outfits. Here is a breakup of her traditional and colourful attires.

Kangana wears Kinnauri outfit

Lately, the actor was seen wearing a typical Kinnauri outfit., Kinnauri women’s attire typically includes a woolen blouse, a woolen skirt known as a “suthan.” Women wrap a shawl around them called “dohru,”. Kinnauri women also secure their attires with silver brooches known as “boomini.”

They also wear traditional headwear, such as a square cloth called a “dhatu” or “thipu,” and traditional hemp footwear.

During her visit to Chamba, Kangana visited the Laxmi Narayan Temple, renowned for its 84 temples. There is even one temple dedicated to Yamraj, the god of death. For the visit, the diva wore a traditional Chamba attire Luanchari, consisting of a blouse and a long skirt embellished with silver ornaments.

When campaigning in Kullu, Ranaut wore many Himachali caps and local Kullvi ‘Pattu.’ For the uninitiated, Pattu is crafted from sheep wool and is a staple attire for women in the hilly regions of Kullu, Mandi, and Kinnaur during the winter months.

Each district or sub-region within Himachal Pradesh has its own distinct cap. Caps from various regions of Himachal like Kullu, Kinnaur, Chamba, and other areas may differ in design, colour, and embroidery patterns.
