Cannes 2023: Did Urvashi Rautela wear a copy of original Cartier crocodile necklace? Here's what we know

Actor Urvashi Rautela is currently attending the 76th Cannes film festival and has been under the limelight for the 'crocodile necklace' she wore at the film festival.

Soon after she was trolled for wearing it, she opened up about the historic piece saying that people who do not have proper information about the necklace would write strange things, but the fact is that Italian actor, Monica Bellucci had also worn it at Cannes in 2006.

However, a reel by Jia Diamonds, a Chandigarh-based jewellery store is also doing rounds on the internet claiming that Urvashi had worn Jia exclusive collection crocodile necklace and earrings, at Cannes.

A jewellery advisor Arundhati Sheth also shared an Instagram story, wherein she slammed Urvashi and said, "Going to Cannes in France, then wearing a shoddy sad ugly copy of a historic piece. Allegedly representing our nation and pretending to be wearing the real thing. When it's been heavily crafted in the back of beyond."

Notably, the original Cartier Crocodile necklace was manufactured in 1975 and is worth around Rs 200 crore and one of its most famous flagship products.
