Everyone wants to wear retro tracksuits and white Vans, courtesy of Squid Game

The Squid Game wave has hit fashion and how! A dystopian drama from South Korea, Squid Game on Netflix has become the platform’s most-watched show.

From the sugary candy and eerie games to the costumes, fans can’t get enough of the hit series. The most famous look on the show is the teal-green tracksuits paired with white Vans sneakers and both of the products are apparently a crowd hit.

Fashion search platform Lyst shared with NYT that online searches for white sneakers are up by 145% and searches of retro-inspired tracksuits are up 97%. A quick search on Amazon.com will show you that the green tracksuit is currently a top seller on the retail site. According to sneaker site Sole Supplier, white slip-on Vans, in particular, have witnessed a 7,800% spike in sales since the show came out.

And that’s not all! Global searches for tracksuits, white slip-on sneakers, red boiler suits and white numbered T-shirts have all risen since the show’s release. With even Netflix selling official Squid Game merchandise with Walmart, it will be interesting to see if the tracksuit trend will last beyond the show’s popularity.
