Chaitra Navratri begins on April 9th and will end on Ram Navami, April 17th, celebrating devotion to Goddess Durga.

Chaitra Navratri 2024: Date, time and significance all you need to know about this festival 

This year Chaitra Navratri will be starting on 9th April and and will conclude on 17th April on the day of Ram Navami.
As per the Hindu calendar, the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month will start on 8th April at 11:50 pm and will end the next day 9th April at 08:30 pm when Chaitra Navratri will commence.

This auspicious festival is celebrated for nine days with great devotion in order to worship goddess Durga and her nine divine forms.

Chaitra Navratri Tithi 2024

Chaitra Navratri starts with the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. This year Pratipada Tithi will start on 8th April 2024 at 11:50 pm and will end the next day on 9th April 2024 at 08:30 pm. This year Chaitra Navratri will start on 9th April 2024 and will end after 9 days on 17th April 2024.

Ghatsthapna Muhurat

This time Ghatasthapana Muhurta is from 06:02 AM to 10:16 AM on 9th April. Ghatasthapana period is 4 hours 14 minutes.

Puja Vidhi

  • Decorate and clean the house at the beginning of Navratri. Keeping the house clean and beautiful keeps the blessings of Mother Durga.
  • On the first day of Navratri, a Kalash is installed which is considered to symbolize the arrival of Maa Durga. In this Kalash, betel leaves, betel nuts, coins, coconut, cotton and names of nine customers are written.
  • Prepare the necessary materials for Navratri puja, such as kumkum, rice, sweets, flowers, incense, lamp, worshipable fruits, grains, etc.
  • Light the lamps in front of Maa Durga and perform Aarti.
