Akshaya Tritiya is a festival that is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India. It is considered to be the most auspicious day amongst Hindus. This day is observed on the third Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Vaisakh month this year. This year, Akshaya Tritiya falls on May 3. People observe this day by purchasing gold or silver. This day is also known as Akha Teej.
