Yogi Adityanath Targets Bihar Voters with NDA Appeal

Lucknow, Oct 29 (PTI) - On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the people of Bihar with a distinct Bhojpuri touch ahead of his address at three election rallies scheduled in the poll-bound state later that day.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Adityanath stated, "Bihar ke sab bhai-bahin logan ke pranam ba. Aaj Raghunathpur, Shahpur evam Buxar Vidhan Sabha kshetra wasiyon se samvad ka avsar praapt hoga." This translates to: "Greetings to all brothers and sisters of Bihar... Today I will have the opportunity to interact with the people of Raghunathpur, Shahpur, and Buxar assembly constituencies."

The Chief Minister referred to Bihar as a land rich in "knowledge, revolution, and devotion". He emphasized that the state steadfastly supports the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which he characterized as a representation of strong governance and nationalism. He urged the people of Bihar to unite in defiance of corrupt and divisive forces, stating, "Bihar is ready, once again, for an NDA government."

This visit marks the second election-related trip to Bihar for Adityanath, as the state gears up for assembly elections scheduled to take place over two phases on November 6 and 11, with results expected on November 14.

The elections present a fierce battleground, with the ruling NDA—led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U))—facing off against the opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA bloc)/Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Indian National Congress (INC). Adding another dimension to the contest is master poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor's newly formed Jan Suraj, which is making its debut this election cycle.
