Wheelchair-bound Mumbai woman shares ordeal of climbing stairs to register marriage

Virali Modi, a Mumbai-based woman who relies on a wheelchair for mobility recently got married but that didn't come easy for her. She shared her ordeal of registering her marriage in Mumbai.

In her viral post, Virali said that the office was on the second floor without a lift and the officials didn't come downstairs for the signatures so she had to be carried up two flights of stairs to get married.

She also mentioned in her post that she is disheartened that the country's government and citizens cannot accommodate her disability. Her faith in humanity has been destroyed by this ordeal.

Virali also said that she is not a piece of luggage that needs to be carried up two floors. She said that she is a human being and her rights matter.

As she shared the post, it quickly went viral and several people reacted to this. Internet users called it extremely appalling and disheartening.
