      Dramatic scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha on 7 February 2023 as Opposition MPs entered the well of the House to protest over the Adani controversy.

      Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar once again rejected notices submitted by Opposition members for a debate on the Adani issue.

      Dhankar said that in the last few days, the House had 17-and-a-half hours to transact business, but worked only for 35 minutes, i.e. 3.3% of the time.

      With the protests intensifying, he adjourned the House for an hour.
